Freymóður Jóhannsson

Freymóður Jóhannsson, 1895-1973, studied art in Copenhagen, among other cities. He was one of the few painters who developed a romantic photorealistic style. A painting of Siglufjörður, from 1925, elicited the now famous words from another master, Kjarval: "Freymóður is always lucky with the weather."
